The recently launched Government initiative Education+ has now also been officially launched in Gozo.
The Gozo launch took place during a seminar held at the Gozo Ministry on Tuesday, 24th 2015. The Education Minister Evarist Bartolo and the Minister for Gozo, Dr Anton Refalo were present for the launch.
Recently, the management team at the MCAST Gozo centre organised an open weekend during which Fifth formers attending the Secondary level educational schools in Gozo had the opportunity to visit the MCAST new Campus in Ghajnsielem.
Students from the Gozo College Secondary and Boys’ Secondary were among the big number of students who took the opportunity to visit the MCAST Campus.
Nature Trust held its annual joint EkoSkola, YRE and LEAF Seminar at the Gozo College Sannat Primary on Friday, 28th November 2014.

The activity included the awarding ceremony of the Eko Skola. This year the Green Flag was awarded to the Sannat Primary while the Zebbug Primary was warded the Bronz Medal. Up to now nine out of the eleven Primary Schools within the Gozo College have been awarded the Green Flag.
A short programme of activities organised by a number of peripatetic teachers within the Gozo College, on Thursday, 13th November 2014 signalled the reactivation of the Education, Science, and Culture Centre (ESCC).
The centre, which is housed at the historic Dar il-Lunzjata, at the gateway to Gozo’s idyllic valley of Wied il-Lunzjata, between Victoria and Kercem, will now serve as a place where an array of educational activities can be organized in the welcoming and peaceful setting provided by the Lunzjata Valley.

Through a series of mathematics and science popularisation events the Department of Curriculum Management would tried to dispel the notion that Science and Mathematics are not fun.
During a week long event entitled ‘X`hemM? Il-Gnien 2014′, students coming from the different Year 4 classes within the Gozo College participated in a number of hands on mathematical and scientific activities designed to promote a problem-solving approach among the participants in an out of class setting.
The event lasted between Monday, 17th and Friday, 21st November, was held at the Villa Rundle Gardens, Victoria, Gozo, from 8.30am till 12.30pm.
Students, staff and parents from the Gozo College – Gharb Primary were recently taken on an educational and cultural tour to Malta. During their day tour the group visited the Limestone Heritage where all participants had ample time to learn about this industry and art from days gone by. They also obtained an overview of how the Maltese worker skills in this particular trade helped to shape the temples, houses, palaces and churches that we have on the islands today. A few days ago, students, staff and parents of Gozo College San Lawrenz Primary spent a day together in Malta.
During the trip, the San Lawrenz Primary School group had the opportunity to pay a visit to several visits to several sites. The sites visited included the Ghadira Nature Reserve, which was visited by the Years 5 and 6 classes and the Simar Nature Reserve which was visited by the Kinder to Year 4 pupils visited together with their parents.
